The
Inspector General reports directly to Congress semiannually.
Sometimes a particular Congressperson or Congressional committee
will request that the OIG conduct a particular audit or investigation,
respond to specific questions about PBGC programs and operations,
or review PBGC responses provided to Congress. In the case of
specific requests, the OIG works closely with Congressional
staff to provide timely and useful information. On occasion,
the IG is requested to testify formally in a hearing about work
the office has completed. Congressional testimony given within
