New York Woman Admits to Theft of $37,000 in Pension Benefits
On January 26, 2016, Lorraine Lorini pleaded guilty to a felony charge of theft of government money in U.S. District Court, Syracuse, NY. Lorini admitted that she fraudulently applied for and received $37,000 in pension benefits from the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), on behalf of her deceased mother. Lorini retained this money for her own use. As part of her plea, Lorini agreed to make full restitution to PBGC.
