PBGC’s Annual Performance Report

PBGC OIG welcomes stakeholders to contribute information for consideration when we conduct program audits, reviews and inspections. Performance (program) audits, reviews and inspections provide findings or conclusions based on an evaluation of sufficient, appropriate evidence against criteria. Our works provide objective analysis to assist management, policy makers and other interested parties to improve program performance and operations, reduce costs, facilitate decision making by parties with responsibility to oversee or initiate corrective action, and contribute to public accountability. If requested, your identity can be protected in accordance with the Inspector General Act.

The PBGC OIG is currently conducting an inspection of PBGC’s FY 2018 Annual Performance Report to determine if facts and figures reported in the Annual Performance Report are accurate and whether controls are in place for ensuring the completeness, reliability, and quality of performance data reported in the Annual Performance Report. We are accepting input on this inspection through August 19, 2019.

We are seeking input from stakeholders regarding PBGC’s Annual Performance Report. Examples of the type of information that would be useful are:

• What are challenges related to the Annual Performance report that you have experienced here at PBGC?


• Are you aware of any erroneous or invalid data reported in the Annual Performance Report?


• Are you aware of any instances that PBGC did not adequately follow the federal regulations for the Annual Performance Report?


• Do you feel comfortable communicating issues affecting your departments performance measures and activities to management (PBGC and contractor)?


• What improvements could PBGC make to the Annual Performance Report and /or process?
